The 6 Steps to the
Grooming Process

What you can expect at My Second Home Pet Salon

Step 1 – The Greeting - The first thing you will notice upon entering our Pet Salon is the fresh and clean smell of the salon, and beautiful décor of the lobby. You may then be greeted by some of our daycare clients, or our resident staff puppies. A human staff member will arrive shortly to welcome you and then escort you to your temporary suite to await your grooming consultation and bath.

Step 2 – The Bath - Our unique massage bathing technique insures that your pet will smell clean and fresh for 7 – 10 days, not just a few days like other salons. For those pets that have problems with nail clippers, we use a gentle buffing technique that is less stressful and many find it very comfortable.

Step 3 – The Drying Process - Initially a forced air process is used to remove as much of the excess water as possible; a gentle towel dry and onto our low heat dryers. Low heat dryers are used so that your pet is not injured during the drying process. This process can take up to 30 – 45 minutes, depending on the amount of hair on the pet.

Step 4 – The Grooming Appointment - The pet is then allowed to roam freely within the salon while they await their grooming appointment. They have many styles to choose from, and will often consult with other pets as to which style is best for them.

They will play with the other clients, renew friendships, get treats and water, or just lounge around on the many beds or comfortable furniture that is provided for their pleasure.

Step 5 – The Pet Stylist – Your Pet Stylist is professionally schooled for all pet breeds. At My Second Home Pet Salon we use the best equipment to insure your pet is comfortable.

More importantly, your Pet Stylist is also a Pet Lover. Kind, Gentle, Loving and they enjoy building a lasting relationship with your pet.

Upon completion either a bow or scarf will be selected to match their personality and hairstyle, and if requested, their manicures will be completed with nail polish.

Step 6 – The Ride Home – After the pet has received their makeover, they are once again allowed to roam freely within the salon to “strut their stuff”, while they await their ride home.

They may even be in the front lobby, looking out the window waiting for their owners to drive up to the Pet Salon.

The staff will say their good byes, “see ya laters” and come back soon to run and play at My Second Home Pet Salon.
